Floor height differences

Out of curiosity, what is the height difference between the living area and the bedroom area? Is that also equal to the height of the storage area below the bedroom?
  • It's going to vary as most have said above. But it is also going to be around 2 feet difference. Which means at least 3 steps. Standard risers are 8" max. If it's more than 2 feet you'll see 4 steps. I don't think I've ever been in one with 4 steps, but they probably exist.

The height of the storage area is going to be less than that, because the structure that makes up the bedroom floor is going to use about 4" of it.

My Chapparal is around 2 feet or a tad more. There is 3 steps counting the top landing.

I looked at a couple of models with four steps and said no way, as I had missed a step in the middle of the night and wound up on the floor in mine.

How about the height difference between the two floors? How much higher is the bedroom floor compare to the living room area? I should have paid more attention when I was at the RV show... :)

    There's no "set" dimensions.

And - I couldn't give you those specs for the 5er I've had for the past 8 years.

At the next RV show bring along your tape measure and note pad (or write your notes on the brochures)..:C

If you found brands you liked at the show - go visit some dealers and do the above..:W

  • No/yes/maybe!!!!???? give us more info on your question. On my Redwoodwood 38GK the answer is no it is lots more, but on the Cougar just a little more height, on the Big Sky it was between the two. hope that helps.
  • Give or take.........

That's how the 'basement' storage comes about.....by lifting the front area of 5vr.
