Foggy HEHR Window

We have a 2011 NU WA Discover American 5th Wheel. Last year 1 of the windows started fogging so I replaced it. The NUWA people were great to work with and had a better price then buying from HEHR. This year I have 10 foggy windows. Seems like HEHR had a problem with their manufacturing process. It was difficult to get a hold of their Customer Service. When I did, they said the windows are only warrantied for 12 months, but would give me a special price. I provided the windows list over a week ago and still do not have a response. In the mean time I have talked to several other RV'ers with HEHR windows and it seems the newer the model, the bigger the issues. Replacing the 1 window was okay, but do not think with every window going bad in our unit I should have to pay. I would think HEHR would stand behind their product.

Any one else have issues with HEHR?
  • The 5'er in my signature has Kenro windows and 7 of the 13 fogged after 4 years. I had all 13 of them rebuilt at Suncoast in December 2014. Expensive, but well worth it for me since I full time. I had all 13 done even the 6 that hadn't leaked - yet. Since Suncoast is 550 miles from my home base it made more sense to do them all at one time vs making another trip.
  • We've had 5 RV's in retirement all with insulated glass, I'm also retired from a major window manufacture. From my working days the reason that insulated glass gets internal condensation in one or two years is the glass was miss manufactured, (a void with the adhesive used to seal the glass). The only problem we've had is with Hehr windows in our last RV not the others. I replaced two getting them from Hehr and the replacements fogged up within 6-9 months. Hehr would not stand behind them. I think they have a problem..
  • Class action suit if enough people had problems. Lawyers are the ones that make out.
    SEGI declared bankruptcy.
  • Thanks..... If I had known that I would not had put them in and paid extra. If HEHR stated they were not going to hold up, no would buy them.... I wonder if there is an legal recourse????
  • Common problem. Most 2000 era RVs with SEGI windows failed. All of mine have failed at five years.

The windows can be repaired. They don't have to be replaced.

Suncoast in Hudson repair them for about $300 each and warrant them ten years. You drive it there, park in a site with hookups a with and they do it in a few days with appointment.

As far as standing behind their product, that's what the warranty is.
