I have a 2005 6.0 that ran great for 96,000 miles. It's been a real headache since then, though. At 96,000 miles the Fuel Injector Control Module went out and it cost about $800. Right after that I noticed that I was blowing coolant out the degas bottle when I was towing. After two trips to Ford and three independent shops, they finally discovered a blown head gasket. It only leaked when towing and I was unemployed, so I didn't get it fixed until last month. In the meantime the brakes locked up on it and they charged me $1200 to replace the calipers, discs, and pads. I just got it out of the shop two weeks ago after getting the truck bulletproofed for $8000 and the thermostat was stuck open. When they tried to fix it they broke the nipple off the radiator where the degas line attaches and that cost me $330. I just got the truck back from that last night.
A lot of people would have sold the truck to an unsuspecting buyer when they found the blown head gasket but I didn't want to do that. I was going to have to fix it whether I sold it or kept it. I just hope that it's bad times are behind us for awhile.

Thank you all for the advice. I am leaving the truck in God's hands. If I am to replace it. The answer will be shown. The reason we are going fulltime is an answer to a Circle maker prayer. Everything is left in God's hands.
I thank you for your patience and look forward to the time I see you on the road.

I don't think it is only a Ford issue. I have read a lot of complaints on 1997-2003 Chevys diesel. It seems it comes with the territory.
