front cap molding

Noticed some water at thee bottom of the front cap, coming out from behind the molding. See the caulk at top of molding has shrunk a bit allowing water to seep behind molding and drain down between molding and side of trailer. Going to take molding off,which is a rubber type, and clean area. Want to know of any problems re-using molding. Any body have experience with this?
