Gray water dump on 2002 King of the Road

We just purchased a 2002 King of the Road 5th wheel which is in excellent shape. However the holding tank dumps are electric. There are 3 tanks. The dump for the gray water bath will not energize. We have checked the breakers and fuses and all are fine. We cannot locate a manual dump valve. Any suggestions would be so welcome.
  • Thank you. That is what we will end up doing. We were able to finally get the switch out and clean the contacts. It works, for now, but a backup manual release is in the works.
  • I think that the easiest (and price is right) place to get the replacement valves that are cable operated is Amazon.
  • Thank you all for the info, we were hoping to find a manual mechanism to handle this problem, but it seems that is not in the works. At $95 per hour labor, we were hoping to have a do- it-yourself project.

If it's coroplast (corrugated plastic), simply cut a small access panel on 3 sides with the "hinge" to the front. Take a look around and see where the valves are located. Use Eternabond tape to seal the cuts and make a larger access where the valves are. Either that, or charge up your cordless drill and start pulling all the self-tapping screws that hold up the underbelly panels and just take them completely off.

  • As a 'mergency thing, it is possible I suppose to pull the house battery, drag it around to the side and hot wire a temporary jump to the dump valve. That would let you at least dump a currently full tank and give you time to track down the problem.

My guess is that you'll find a wire somewhere that passes through some bulkhead and was not grommeted properly, and abraded until broken. But that's just a guess.
