as noted by others in this thread, OEM landing gear footpads are easily bent when they are on anything but a solid/even surface .... footpads 5ers can sink and bend when on dirt/sand, gravel, asphalt, etc .... the same is true to a lesser degree with stabilizers .... there may well be aftermarket footpads out there that are so strong they won't bend when subjected to sufficient pressure but I've never found them .... for that reason we use some sort of additional pad under the landing gear pads
