Learned a couple of things today!! and it continued...Page 2
Well we got a short notice opportunity to Park Host for the month of June.
When talking with the Host Coordinator I knew the host site would be interesting to get into. Required backing into a site on passenger side while backing up hill. This is not a mild uphill it is fairly steep. This is with a NV 4500 (AKA 5 speed manual).
Well #1 item on my to buy list is now a "2 Low" kit. Allows use of 4X4 low range without locking in front axle. This would allow no slipping of the clutch as in low range the speed is much slower.
Item #2 either a longer breakaway cable or better connection point!! I normally just place over the release handle. Well tight turn to passenger side up hill! I thought I had hit the cab with the 5er!! With a long bed and about 45 degree turn!! Nope, pulled the breakaway plunger (YES Trailer brakes work GREAT!). Took a minute to figure out why I was bound up with the 5er!! :S
Well once the plunger was replaced got the 5er in place with less drama.
