Learned a couple of things today!! and it continued...Page 2

So, Russ we have not gotten to talk on the phone yet, so I will post some more info on 2 low kits. I use it mainly pulling a steep hill in our summer RV park with the trailer! If you have a tight torque converter like I do the truck becomes quite jumpy with the engine wanting to over power the brakes in 2 low, this would not be problem with your manual tranny or stock loose TC.

Bob V might be able to still put a kit together for you. His kit original with the cheaper manual kit require one to pull the vacuum switch after going to 4 H or 4L to be in 4x4 mode. I studied it for quite a while and redid the plumbing so going to 4 H or 4 L with 4x4 mode an to get 2 low, you had to pull the knob out on the vacuum switch. I thought that this was much better and did not cause confusion for my wife if she ever need 4x4 mode.

The Posi-Lok would work closer to what Bob V original set up did. That is two steps to me in 4 H or 4 L.

I needed to be at the paying job this morning so as a last attempt took and plugged the converter into a known working outlet on the counter. I now have a working converter.

Well after retrieving the Multi meter discovered that the pedestal was missing a leg of power on the 50 amp. Switched to the 30 and will see about having maintenance fix pedestal.

Glad you figured it out.
A progressive surge guard would have detected the issue right away!

Well just be glad it did not drop neutral or you would have fried all your AC items with 240V across then. If you are going to use 50AMP service, then be sure to have a good isolation device that will sense a missing neutral and drop all power ASP.

The site is great and getting in would have not been the big of issue without the 2 Low kit, but pulling the breakaway plunger made it very interesting!
