I just use normal Master locks on mine. As much as I hate to say it the only thing any lock does is keep the honest people honest. Is someone realy wants your stuff they WILL get it.

These hidden shackle locks start at $20 verses the disc locks at about $10. $40-50 for a pair is not that much.

At certain point, I will avoid risk by storing or parking somewhere safer rather than try to save a few dollars to keep it somewhere risky. If the thieves are that determined, more than property may be at risk.

Bedlam wrote:Absolutely, but what I'm saying is that if they're ready to cut a padlock off to get in, and have the equipment to do so and you have an expensive, hard-to-cut lock on there they'll just cut the handle instead of messing with the lock. Locks are a good idea, I just don't see a lot of sense in spending big bucks on one when it's so easy to bypass the lock and cut the handle.
Nothing is impenetrable - The idea is to make it more work or time than an easier target nearby. The thief wants to be in and out as quickly as possible with the least amount of noise. Anything you can do increase exposure time and noise to get in will be a deterrent.

So you can slow them down a little with a lock on the inside of your rig.
