- minnowExplorerI went with the Truxedo Duece cover. It's a roll up cover but you can also flip back 1/3 of the cover in the front. I have a below the bed tool box so this allows access to the toolbox. When towing I have the cover rolled all the way up to the front of the bed. Truxedo Duece
- rgh30ExplorerWOW. Never thought I would get so many replies. Thanks a lot guys. I will be installing a Curt Q24 fifth wheel hitch in the pre installed fifth wheel hitch package on my 2016 GMC 3500HD Dually. I'm hoping it will not interfere with cover.
- HelmseyExplorerAnother BakFlip fan here, had the G2 on the last 2 or 3 trucks of mine. It will be the 2nd thing that goes on my next truck.
- NjmurvinExplorerI have the Extang tri-fold and love it. I ordered it with the convertible top material and it has held up great for several years. I have a short bed truck. So I remove the cover for towing as I need the bed space in front of the hitch to be open for camping chairs, propane tank, etc. The cover comes off in less than 10 minutes if I take my time and do it myself.
- DelawareCamperExplorerI also have the Extang tri-fold ,, I've had mine on my 2011 dually and now on my 2015 dually, I've had no problems with any water getting in the bed,, I fold the two sections up and use the 5th wheel without any problems, then when unhooked I fold them back and have a dry bed.

I have a Truxedo roll up soft cover. Had it for six years now with no issues. I like the fact that when the full open bed is required it does not ubstruct the rear window.
Hard to beat the Truxedo cover have had two - waltbennettExplorerI've a Softopper - http://www.softopper.com/?gclid=COu5_IGAldICFcpLDQodxb4Jhw and REALLY like it. Folds up and down easily and gives the same covered room as a fiberglass cap. Had the one on our F-350 ever since we got it, and it's held up extremely well.
- DurbExplorerI have an Extang tri-fold and it works well for towing and as a general purpose cover. Items such as firewood stay relatively dry in the front third of the bed when towing. No security without a locking tailgate. It does drip enough to keep things wet inside and doesn't have any ventilation to help dry the bed out. I've added extra seals which help.

The hard folding models are very good, but you need somewhere to store them when the fifth wheel is hooked up. The plus side is they can easily come off.
I like the Pace Edwards that I had as well. It isn't an advantage for a TC, but I could see it as a great option for a fifth wheel since it only takes up a few inches of the bed. It is a bit harder to put on that a try fold the first time. After than, you never take it off.
Why do you say that they need to be removed when towing...never take mine off when towing and have never had an issue. Sticks up about 3-4 inches on front 1/3 of bed when folded but never has hit camper front. - tinner12002ExplorerDo you tow a fifth wheel with your truck? If so, I'd recommend the Extang Encore hard folding top that has the front section that folds open also. When hitched up you can fold rear and middle sections over and on top of front panel and strap them down and they lay flat. I just have a soft tri folding cover now that folds forward but the front section doesn't open so the Extang Encore is going to be my next purchase.
