Morryde pinbox

I put an air ride pin box on ours and it was a huge improvement

probably won't change anything.

The Moryde pin box is designed to cushion chucking which is the push pull action felt going down the road. If this isn't much of a problem, then it probably won't do much.

I put one on my 5er 5 years ago. It cured some of the chucking. Even MR says it's not a cure all. I can see that it's working from the dust mark spots on the pin plate. Would I buy another? Probably not. I think I'd spend the extra money and go with a Reese Goose Box. A lot more than $455. I'll stick with what I have as for the most part it's good enough. Not worth losing money selling the MR then forking out $1135.79.

All depends on the hitch you have. CURT is known to cause CHUCKING. Pin box won’t cure that.

We are on our second fifth wheel both with the morryde rubber pin box. The first fiver, a 2004 Sandpiper bought new with a standard box was a chucking bucking horse, first with a Reese Slider 2006, F250, then a 2007 F350 DRW with a B&W companion was a bucking fool. After the Morryde install, we had a much smother ride. It didn’t remove all the chucking but made it more comfortable. Our new Cardinal came with the Morryde box, steps and cushion equalizer system. Have hot had chucking/bucking in our recent tows.

Can't help you with the MR question, but have had the 5th Airborne on 2 different trailers and have been extremely happy w/ them.. FWIW, 1st hitch in truck was a Reese 16k then upgraded to a B&W 18k Patriot. The Reese was good but in no way in same class as the B&W and I really think the combo of the 2 (B&W and 5th AB) compliment each other.

I had an older Husky manual sliding hitch, changed a 13,000# Komfort 5er from an all steel pinbox to the MorRyde rubber pin box and noticed a better ride. Not perfect, but less chucking. The best improvement on the same TV and 5er was when I replaced the old Husky with a new Pullrite Superglide.

I have the MorRyde pin box and as stated before, it does help with "Chucking". The question I have what do you mean, "help with the ride?" Can you give a little more description of the problem we can give you better options to consider? To help with broken plates and open cabinets, I'm installing the MorRyde suspension 4000 system as an upgrade.

It will help w fore/aft forces generated by your trailer but not so much for bouncing forces. Sounds like you are buying used, MorRyde uses different compounds in their pin boxes based on trailer weight. I would call MorRyde and make sure it is appropriate for your trailer. Many manufacturers supply MorRyde pin boxes standard on their fifth wheels, they do this because they are needed to quell forces and they work well. Many members here swear by them.
