Nashville, TN

Be aware that this area is a zoo for two weeks in June....first is the CMA festival which is June 5-8 this year. That is right in Nashville and unless you want to attend the festival I'd avoid that weekend. The following week, June 12-15 is Bonnaroo, a bit southeast of Nashville in Manchester. You should be ok unless you plan on traveling I-24 between Chattanooga and Nashville that week, which has a history of basically shutting down during the heaviest festival traffic. It's far enough from Nashville that, other than traffic impacts, it shouldn't impact a stay during that time.

We have stayed twice at Two Rivers and were quite satisfied.

You might want to Google "Percy Priest Lake" to come up with the Corp of Engineers' camping facilties.

NashilleShores.com is a big water park right on the lake, and they also have a campground.

What's nice about Music Valley Road is that you're down the street from Gaylord Opryland Hotel and the huge OpryMills mall that has a Bass Pro Shop location. You're also not that far from downtown, and Nashville is a really happening place.

For the price difference we still prefer Two Rivers. They have added gravel and it's a bit better. We are at Two Rivers now for one night. They are packed! I would recommend reservations.
They have 1/2 day tours that you can take with Gray Line. We enjoyed it.

I have tried them all and now every year I head south I make a point of staying at the KOA. It is such a nice change to have a site with a 'concrete' patio AND patio furniture.

My plan is only to stay the night and each and every year I end up staying several days just to enjoying my CG site! :W

I just drove through all three Nashville campgrounds on Music Valley Dr.,Near Opryland Hotel. I wanted to see the improvements that the KOA had done. I will have to say I would now choose the KOA out of the three. The first two rows on the right, which are pull thru's, had been newly paved, with a nice patio and patio furniture. There were 40"+ motor homes pulling a large trailer and had plenty of room in these new pull thru's.
Although Two Rivers gets good reviews I don't like it because of all the gravel drives (which is in need of some new gravel) and especially due to many of the sites being back-to-back sites. Some of the rigs looked like they were a foot or two from the back of the rig behind them. Too close for me.

My second choice in campgrounds here would be the Nashville Yogi Bear Jellystone Campground, which would be the first campground you come to on Music Valley Dr.

Here are a couple of pictures of the new KOA sites.

Jellystone, Two Rivers, and Music City KOA are right down the street from The Grand Ole Opry. They are all pretty expensive. Close to Nashville are many COE campgrounds and a few state parks. Montgomery Bell in Dickson (about 50 miles west of town) is nice. Lebanon (pronounced Lebnun)just east of town has several private campgrounds and Cedars of Lebanon S.P. As somebody said, doing an internet search for Nashville area CG's will get you a lot from which to choose.

A MUST see is the Parthenon in centennial park in downtown Nashville. Full size replica of the one in Greece. Nice park to visit as well.

Dollywood is located in Pigeon Forge which is a 4 hour drive from Nashviile.
