Quick update....(I am the OP in this thread FYI)

We are going to instal 2 50 am boxes Sat...we decided to put 1 on each pole that is dropped near the ranch house. There is a 30 am RV box that we are going to remove and replace with a 50. 2 Poles and 2 direct drops off each pole. One pole feeds the house and one pole feeds the barn and plenty of space on board for a 50 amp breaker.

There is no real accurate way to know what it would cost.
We do not know what size and type of wire is feeding the existing receptacle. Let's say it is 10/2 w ground. Then the receptacle would need to be changed to a 30-TT, the breaker would need to be changed to a single pole 30 amp, and the white wire that came off the double pole breaker would have to be moved to the neutral buss.

To all of you guys who think that #10 can carry 50 amps, you'd better be sure your insurance is paid up.

New breaker, outdoor box, outlet, general conditions, $150 parts, $250 labor.
Just a guess, maybe more. Electrician may find reason to pull new wire, conduit etc to meet current code. Add $100+ if you want a city inspection permit.

Make dang sure the electrician knows you need 120 volts ONLY. Have him show you the meter when he tests it for you. Even have him stand by while you plug in.

^^^^ that is a NEMA 6-50R and will not directly work for any RV. Outlet is 240 volts only.

You need 120 volts. You could repurpose one of the Hot leads to be a Neutral and install a NEMA TT-30R. Need to swap down to a single pole 30 amp breaker.

Best to get an electrician.
