New truck and 5th wheel

Just got the new truck. A 2017 F350 4x4 lariat with an 8 foot bed.

Going to pick up the new 5th wheel next week. I need to get a hitch installed and have read on here that a lot of people like the B&W Champion. We are at Sun-N-Fun in Sarasota,Fl. There are a ton of 5th wheels here and just about every truck bed I look into has a Reese hitch in it.

So I am asking myself why spend an extra 500.00 or more for that hitch?

We are full timers and will be moving about every 2 weeks so, if there is a big difference then fine. Just do not want to waste money if it isn't needed.

    Get the B&w for the puck system
    B&w american made they stand behind their product
    Reese Chinese made last I checked well you decide

    That new truck would sure look good with a AirSafe 25k or Hensley Air ride hitch.Your new 5th will also thank you for the nice ride you will get.Pricey but better than any rigid hitch,no comparison.Take a look at them you might just see what I'm saying.

    If I was in the market for a new hitch it would be a big Curt or a Reese or a Pullrite or a B&W....which ever gave me the best price.

    The best hitch ??...... is the one you own.

    Best price in cheapest or best price for what you get?

    To me your hitch is not the place to go cheap. I wanted something solid and the B&W was the best I found. Two years and 10k miles later I still love it and would buy it again.

    B&W is very popular and has its fans. But in reality, any of the known name hitches will work fine. But some of the brands have multiple costs levels of hitches, from "economy" ones to higher ones. I would get the higher end hitch if the brand has different levels.

    I have the Reese Elite for my F350 with the factory hitch prep (puck) and it works great. Had a Pullrite Super 5th in my previous truck. Also worked great. And many have stated how well their Curt hitches work. Same for other brands. Pick one you like and can find a good price and go with it.

    There are many good hitches! You don't say if you have the 5th wheel prep, but if you do, IMO, there is no better hitch available, than the B&W 3300. The quality, price, adjust ability, lightweight, easy in/out, ease of use, what more could you want.

    If no FW prep, many choices.

    If you meant the B&W Companion Hitch I have had one since 2007. Very happy with it. I have both the Companion 5th Wheel and the Turnover Goose Neck hitch.

    It's nice to be able to remove the hitch easily and have a flat floor bed. In fact in just about an hour I will be removing my hitch so I can load furniture in the truck.

    Did you get the factory 5th wheel prep package in the truck? I added it to my RAM it works fantastic!!! If you don't have that option, get it installed, you won't regret it. There's nothing wrong with rail systems or gooseneck adapters, but I really like the idea of having all the hitch weight directly on the truck frame.

    The B&W is a very good hitch. I'm pleased with my Curt Hitch.

    Here is a list of Fifth Wheel hitches for Ford 5th wheel prep kit. Whatever you get I strongly suggest a dual jaw system. The 360 degree contact with the king pin makes a solid connection that is quiet and very secure.
