Newbie needs some advice please!

1. Extended Warranty - Worth it only if something fails. My opinion is to take the money and put it aside to pay for any future failure.
2. Paint and Fabric - Sounds crazy pricey compared to wax and a couple of cans of Scotch-Guard.
3. Slideout Covers - If you frequently camp with slides out near trees, yes. Almost useless in the desert other than to act as a sail...
4. Power Tongue Jack - I like mine, just price shop them. Looks like they are getting $50-$75 for the install because they range in price from $213 to $270 depending on where you buy it. If you are not a handy person it's probably worth it to have it installed by them.

I bought the warranty,and am getting the toppers.

I can only provide my opinion on your inquiries. Others may have different opinions or experiences.

1. Extended Warranties: I wouldn’t purchase an extended warranty on any product. I try and buy the best quality I can find for my money and rely on the manufacturer’s warranty.

2. Paint and Fabric Protectant: I wouldn’t purchase either of these. You can buy aftermarket spray on fabric protectant at any auto supply store for far-far less if you want it.

The exterior siding isn’t listed as aluminum or fiberglass in your post. We have a 2005 Weekend Warrior with fiberglass siding and it has held up really well with simple wash & waxing. The most frequent cause of exterior appearance problems is either physical damage or peeling decals.

3. Slideout Room Cover: I have no experience or opinion on this subject.

4. Barker Power Tongue Jack: This is well worth while and I would at least attempt to require it as part of the deal, $300.00 shouldn’t break the deal from the dealer’s side and would be nice to have.

Skip the warranty and as stated put that money aside for any repair. keep up on your maintenance and be observant and this will go along way to prevent issues. A can or two of scotchguard and do it yourself. The jury is out on the slide toppers. Some love them others don't. Somtimes I wish I had them but it isn;t the end of the world without them. YES the on the jack. Cranking gets old fast!!!!

I bought the extended warranty when we bought our motorhome, it's since paid for itself and then some (fridge died, converter died, something else) the fridge alone paid for it. However, these are negotiable if you opt for one deal with them. Make sure your dealer has a good relationship with the company and they don't require you to pay up front and get reimbursed.

Yes on the tongue jack. As far as the slide toppers, I say yes however if you camp in areas with high winds and little rain their value isn't as great.

I purchased the ext warr on my old hauler and it paid for itself.. i had few stuff go wrong and had them fixed. So i bought an ext warr on my new 2014 attitude also. I also got the exterior coating protection done..its suppose to last 7-8 yrs without having me to wax it..just wash..my hauler is a 27 footer and i hate to wax the thing.

YES on the power tongue jack !!
We have one and its great, unless its very late at night and you have neighbors close by, its a little noisy.
If you cant get a decent price at the time of sale, its not too hard to add it later as long as the manual tongue jack is bolted (NOT welded) to the tongue.
Since the batteries are usually just a foot or two away, a short piece of wire, a circuit breaker and your good to go.

Have dealer throw in hitch and sway bars too.
