not working when plugged into campground cable connection.

Some websites indicate there should be a switch for cable & TV. All I have is the booster switch, which I have turned off, and a cable connection. On the menu I found a channel cable scan and did a channel scan. No channels.
Any magic rabbits?
Thanks in advance.

Test procedure: Connect a coax from the TV to the cable pedestal and scan the channels. Now connect the coax to various coax ends (use a barrel connector) in the rig until you isolate the problem. This includes the booster, A/V box, splitters, etc as your rig is configured.

On my batwing booster:
Turn it off and it connects to the cable coax.
Rescan channels on the TV with the cable setting.

Note: Most TVs have a single coax input so there is no TV input change for OTA vs cable. There may be an external AV box or AB switch that needs to be set depending upon your rig.

Did it work at the last campground?

Another idea. Ask the owner/manager of the park. They will come out with a TV and check it with your cable. Could be the park's problem not yours.

We are at a park that when the wife made the reservations said they had cable TV. However after paying and setting up wasn't able to get any channels. The owner had dropped the cable company, since they were hard to work with." Just running off the antenna now.

Let us all know what the fix was.

Did you........

Turn off the booster
Set your TV input to 'cable' vs 'antenna'
THEN do a scan for channels

????
Is it time for your medication or mine?

You also have to have found the menu item that says source (source of the input you are looking for)

So, lets assume you have it set to antenna, and the booster button is on... then try a scan and see if it brings in channels assuming your antenna is up and there is channels there.

OK.. it worked. So now you change the source to cable, and plug in to the shore cable.. you should not have to scan for that, they should just be there.

But they are not.. so.. take a longer wire from their cable outlet through a window to your TV and see if you can get it to work. That might prove your cable system isn't working. So then you have the connection from your outside connection to the antenna booster... and the connection from the booster to your TV. again, you can check the latter by putting in your wire and seeing it that makes a difference.

It's never easy.. but just working through all the parts and figuring out what is not working is the key.

I eventually found my problem was my internal wire from the outside to the booster had the center wire cut just 1/32 of an inch too short where it screwed into the booster, and I saw it was not as long as the other wires with the center pin... and I pulled it out with my needle nose pliers and presto, cable connection was perfect.

It kind of depends on your trailer wiring. Everyone seems to be different. On my latest trailer I need to disconnect the coax in the bedroom and reconnect it to a different port when I use cable. (took 6 months to figure that out) Really a dumb system. The trailer before that was equally complex. What I did was to run coax from the source (campground outlet) in my door and connect it to the TV. Once that works, gradually work it back to the outside of your trailer. My current trailer does not have the usual A/B box, my previous trailer did.
