Well, now think about this? Isn't the pink stuff suppose to go through the lines and #1 push out the resident water and #2 replace the resident water? ... sooooo
the first water that comes out of the faucet is going to be diluted with the existing water in the lines until the pink stuff 100% occupies the water lines and then it should be the same color.
Is it necessary to wait this long? No. When the pink stuff begins to pour out of the faucet, it's good to go. But that explains why the color is lighter.
Also, when looking at the pink-stuff in the 1 gallon jug, your looking through more volume, what? 8 inches in diameter. When your looking at the stream coming from the faucet, it's what? 1/2 inch? Of course the color coming from the faucet will be lighter (not as bold).
