Pin Box again Moryde vs Trailair

Have you tried a good air hitch. I have a 2006 Carriage that weighs fully loaded a little over 14,700lbs. Of that the hitch weight is a little over 3,100lbs. That puts 11,600lbs on the tires. I have a 25k Air Safe Hitch with the Holland Binkley Head. You don't really notice the 5th wheel behind you. It is floating back their and the truck rides good. Only time anything moves in the 5th wheel is if I have to slam on the brakes. So unless you break down and spend the money one time to get a good air hitch. You haven't tried everything. And if you do buy a good air hitch make sure it has the Holland Binkley Head

I think that is true, I had the worst ride when I used the arrows. But when I brought the air down to 40 lbs I noticed a big difference in the ride. Dose it still bounce yeah, but it is a lot softer!

I really like my Morryde pin box.

Will anything fix the crappy ride while towing a 5th wheel? I say no, we just gotta live with it. The mechanics of a 5th wheel is akin to a teeter-totter so long as the wheels are situated near the middle of the trailer it's gonna bounce and chuck.

Nothing wrong with the TrailerSaver but what does it cost to handle my 24k DRV? I am more than happy with my Factory rear air ride RAM with B&W Companion hitch along with the TrailAir TriGlide.

Something no one has said is just break down and buy you a good air hitch. Either a Airsafe Hitch or a Trailer Saver Air Hitch. Buy a good one with the Holland-Binkley Head. Then don't worry about chucking or anything else. I bought the 25k AirSafe Hitch in 2006 and been happy every since. First time we took our Carriage out on a trip . The wife said , you don't even know it is back their. The truck and RV are not in a bind.They both ride smooth. Only time anything has ever moved in the RV is when I had to slam on the brakes. So bite the bullet one time and be happy.

I've been looking for opinions on these pin boxes and was happy to see some.

Love my combo.

I'm typically 50-60 lbs with a 2800 lb pin.
I don't run it up to the top of the arrow. Why keep it at the top of the stroke, I like to keep the shock in mid stroke and watch it float behind me.
I found it's also a good tool for the correct trailer brake gain, when it's right the shock absorber will neither compress or extend during braking.

Thanks just thought I would get some ideas on air pressure in the trailair maybe the information gets stale after a year....lol but seriously is there a time limit on threads and information asking for a friend?

I don't think there is any time limit, I was just having some fun with 12V . There was some discussion earlier in this thread on tire pressure on the tow vehicle , there was the reply here today agreeing with 12V ,prior to that it seemed most run max inflation when towing a fifth wheel, I do . But mine is also a SRW , not a dually.

The point made on using the inflation chart according to weight was 12V thinks tire inflation creates chucking, IMO it does not.
