That $18 Wally World heater will keep the trailer surprisingly warm and is no more/less a fire hazard than some of the other heaters suggested, plus it takes up little storage space. I have two of them, but found one does a more than adequate job of keeping the entire trailer comfortable.

Don't over think the issue, after all you're not buying a central heat/air system for your stick n' brick.

We picked up a quartz heater in a style of a wooden box with controls on the front. I am sorry I can't describe it any better, but I hope you know what I am trying to describe. We took out the small table that sat between our recliners and screwed the lamp to the top of it. We have rarely used the furnace since installing it. Although it is more than $50, we feel it is perfect.

We use very compact, white cover, ceramic heater we got at Camping World. However, just about any brand ceramic will do the best job we've found over the years . Heat output is as large as any on the market and they are durable a compact. Less than 12" tall and about 6" sq.

Our parameters....

Safe, quiet, small footprint, portable, save us some
propane on those desert nights/mornings when we just

I found this one (Broan).... a little stouter then most

a waste of about $50 over a wal mart ceramic cube that will do exactly the same thing.

Need to do some research now on your choices. Then,
the dreaded pry open of the wallet. Our last portable
electric heater was a generic... worked well for a
long time. I don't recall if it had any bells and
whistles...it just heated.

my first TT I actually wired a plug in with a wall mounted line voltage Tstat in the middle, so I could just set the heater on high and let the wall stat control it, made for more even temp, and had a small quiet fan to circulate heat around the unit. never did that for the last one, but might do it for this one.
maybe 2 or 3- 500 watt 120 v BB heaters. will have to explore the options.

We too have a Vornado DVTH. We bought it years ago and it still works perfectly. Much more accurate and consistent than the cheapo heaters.

If mine gives out, I'll buy another.

Works well...

The low profile oil filled electric heaters are best for us to use.. these are quiet in operation (Only go click) and do not give off burnt dust smell and above all have no open flame or visible heated cores.


We have two in our POPUP trailer, one sitting on a board in the back of our unused tent bed end and the other one sitting in hall way next to the POPUP door.

If more heat is needed to move around the trailer this size is perfect to sit one of the O2COOL type AC/DC/D-CELL 10-inch fans behind it. works great...


We usually run an extension cord into the trailer from the camp ground pedestal 20AMP connection just for the two electric heaters. Better to use the camp ground electric verses our POPUP propane when we can...
