I just did mine.... I take the entire hitch apart , inspect all movint parts, lube moving parts and start on the way tubes... I will sand them using either sand paper or steel wool all the way down to bare metal.. After I do that I look for scratches and or galling and smooth them out.. At that time I re coat the tubes with slip plate. Once dry I re assemble the hitch , re adjust the nylon block and touch up the way tubes with another coat of slip plate as there is always a small scratch in the coverage from sliding them threw the base.Joe
