i have 2015 ram 2500 4x4 with the oem puck option. just ordered a 2016 rockwood 8244ws 5th wheel that comes equipped with a reese revolution pin box. if a understand correctly from reading both the b&w and curt 5th wheel hitch options for the puck system do not recommend using either hitch with the revolution pinbox engaged. the reese r30160 appears to be ok.do i understand this correctly.

The problem is with hitches that rely on a single square tube to secure the hitch like the B&W Companion. These hitches cannot resist the rotational forces produced by the Revolution pin box. At one point I understand that B&W was OK with the Revolution provided that extra bolts were used at the corners of the base, but that no longer makes the hitch ez to remove.

The R30160, with it's 4 point attachment will handle the rotational forces of the Revolution just as well as any other rail mount or underbed mount fifth wheel hitch.

Hope this helps

The Ford Reese puck system is apparently compatible. No issues with using an 18K Reese with the system for a year now. I have not one advisory found anywhere in the product literature or vehicle manual (2015) that states to not to use the swinging Revolution pinbox.

my understanding non of the puck systems will work due to the extra torque on the hitch.if you want the patriot you can use two bolts in the back of the sidewinder and lock it out and use it as a regular pin box then
