Reflection 367 BHS vs Mesa RidgeMF376 FBH

We went looking for our first fifth wheel. We found these two models that seemed like a good fit. The Reflection has the midbunk with a big kitchen with a pantry. The Mesa Ridge has this big den up front that has two sofas that become beds with lots of storage a tv and a door and second bathroom. Then it had a long super sofa with tables that were removable. Anyone have these two models. I really would like to hear from people with this model of Mesa Ridge. Quality? Problems? Need some input from people who have owned these units....

Sounds like you are looking at the front living Mesa Ridge. We have the FLR in the Open Range Light and would never go back to a different type floor plan. I didn't really like floor plans on the reflection much and we looked at a bunch!
Some things we love about the Open Range are 100 inches wide. Makes for much more interior room. PVC roof, no maintenance. The water system is so easy once you learn it, the convenience center lets you add water winterize and switch from fill to onboard water super easy. All models come with stabilizer bars, Lights with BAL and others with JT strongarms. All of the drawers are super deep and come with full length pulls so they come all the way out.

Strictly based on floorplan, (not features or quality) I prefer the Gran Design over the Mesa Ridge ...It is not even close for me.

After lurking on this forum for a month or two, I just joined up. We just bought our first fifth wheel-- in fact, we haven't yet completed the sale. When looking at all the tons of different models that are out there, we kept coming back to Grand Design. They have a very good reputation and seem to do a lot of things right. But as we were narrowing it down, it was down to the Grand Design Reflection 29RL and the Open Range Roamer 316RLS. They were both at the same dealer and inside the huge showroom so we could go back and forth between them to compare. They were very similar to each other in size and layout and price. Then I noticed some things on the Open Range that I thought made for a better built rig: Larger rims- 16", JT Strongarm braces, the pvc roof, more windows, 2 of the 3 water tanks are bigger, frameless windows and a couple other things I don't recall right now. A big thing the Grand Design has going is the lighter weight. I like both of them and it was a tough choice but I think we made the right decision. See if you notice any of the same differences between the 2 you're looking at. Open Range and Mesa Ridge are of course both made by Highland Ridge.

Check the tank sizes. Which one has the larger fresh, grey, and black tanks. I would lean towards that one, all other wants & needs satisfied.

We don't have either, but here is my personal observation after looking at both floor plans. To me. The Mesa Ridge would be a definite no go. To me, windows are a top priority, and this trailer is severely lacking windows. I'm not a fan or a rear bedroom either, because that is usually where the best view would be, and with it being a bedroom, you wouldn't get to see that view.

Just my opinion.

We have had a Grand Design Reflection for 2 1/2 years now. Great RV and Customer Service is top notch. Even after 1 year warranty they where there when I needed them. I would buy another one when time comes to buy a new one.

x2. I have read many really good customer service stories from Grand Design. I also met one of the factory reps at a local RV show a couple of years ago and was quite impressed by what he had to say. They will be on our short list for our next unit if their reputation is still what it is today.

We are happy with our Reflection but have no experience with the model you are asking about. My one question would be: do you already own your tow vehicle? I wouldn't consider towing either of these behemoths with anything less than a 1-ton DRW. Those listed pin weights are unloaded and will easily reach 3,200 - 3,500 lbs. loaded. At 41', you'll need both the payload capacity and stability of a DRW.
