Road gremlins!! Out in force!!

Yesteryday I almost wore out my jack and lug wrench!! Within 2 hours I replaced 2 tires on the camper and had a flat on the truck!!

The day before we left I jacked the camper up and checked all 4 tires. The back axle has 2 new ones from last summer and the front had pretty good ones. Well, about 45 miles into our trip I hear thump thump thump!! Right front tire almost come apart. I call around and find a shop about 35 miles away that has tires to match my 2 new ones on the back. I put the spare on and off we go. Ok, I now have basically 4 new trailer tires on the ground.

Now, thinking that since just about a month ago I put 6 brand new Firestone tires on the truck we are good to go!! Oooops. Not so!! We drive about 100 miles only to discover the right front truck tire going down fast!! We find a Wal Mart and I won't say what happened there except I just put my spare on. We drive until dark and find another Wal Mart just to sleep and this morning found a shop to fix that tire.

We are now on the road again and I'm hoping my jack and lug wrench get to stay in the tool box..........
  • 1100 Sabre, At least you are on the move. We are at Swan Lake Wildlife Refuge in north central Missouri and they are forecasting a possible 2 inches of snow tonight.

Have a safe and happy trip. No more gremlins.
  • Sure hope you cleared out all the gremlins so the rest of us don't meet them!
  • WOW, talk about blowing the budget for the trip let alone all the greif. I hope you have it all out of your system and enjoy your trip. Be safe & good luck.
  • Any Salvage yards in your neck of the woods? Sounds like someone dropped a lot of scrap on the road.
  • Yikes! When it rains it pours. Good luck and safe travels the rest of the way.
  • wow.... I think I would be investing in an inverter and a 12 vlt impact gun.....

lets hope the road gods are kind to you....
