Got a quote today for $635.00 tax, mounted ,and balanced for a set of four ST 235/85/16
G rated Sailun S637's. Rated @ 4400 lbs @ 110 psi.

This seems to be a decent price shopping around. How does this compare to what some of you have paid.

It appears the ST version of the S637 has a higher load capacity than the LT version.
Assuming it is the exact same tire as mentioned in a prior post.

I believe I read on one of the many tire threads, a passenger rated tire has to maintain a 20 per cent reserve capacity, while a non passenger rated tire or ST tire does not. Therefore the ST can be rated at a higher capacity vs. its LT version.
Can any of the resident tire Guru's confirm my comments or am I imagining the ratings difference?

Appreciate the info on where you got your Sailuns. My Bighorn came with a set, newer so labeled "ST". So far I really like them. Having drug the rig multiple times to Idaho, AZ, Colorado, the Washington Coast etc. they are still showing virtually no wear.

Hmmm....ST tires are having issues at 3500-3600 lb max loads and 80 psi. Now we can carry 4080 lb max load on a 80 psi tire . Time and miles will tell if this tire was another debacle or it finally worked as advertised.

I'm skeptical of the fact, the reputation that the G614 has. Granted they have improved, but on occasion still a report of a blowout. So far I have not read any issues with the S637, not saying there hasn't been any ,but just haven't heard of any .

Did you know that Goodyear has a new trailer tire (Endurance). It's manufactured in one of their USA plants. The largest size is unique, ST255/85R16 with a load capacity of 4080# at 80 psi, that's how the tire rack lists it. It also has a speed letter "N".

Big reason I went with Sailun, other then the Goodyear G614, reports like this.

No complaints on the Goodyear G614, but there is a lot of reading with reports of issues.

Yup. I modified my fenders above for additional clearance. These tires are awesome. They weighed almost double what ny China-blow tires did.
They look like semi tires. This should have been my first mod three years ago.

There is now a 235/80 R16 that is shorter. The taller height has become a non issue

Only concern I had was there was slide adjustment bolts that protrudes down on both sides in the fender well. I decided to remove them ,and shorten them up about an inch. Don't know why they are so long to start with, never been adjusted or would need that much adjustment, anyway I cut them down .

I never considered the 235/80/16 I wanted all the extra height I can get to help level the fifth wheel a bit. The clearance on my fenders look okay, if not I'm sure those beefy tires will modify that cheap plastic with no problem :B

For those near a Discount Tire or America's Tire store, might give the all-steel, G-rated, Hartland 235/85/16's a look. They also make a poly sidewall/steel version, too.

The Hartland all-steel version is similar in weight (60 lbs.) and construction as the Sailun S637, load rated to 4,080 lbs. at 110 PSI, and "N" (87 mph) speed-rated. DT/AT website says it's "M" speed-rated which is incorrect.

Our local DT tire store matched the lowest online pricing I found for the Sailun S637. Got a set of 4, mounted and balanced, out the door for ~$675.

We've put 5,000 - 6,000 miles on them with no issues so far.

Look like these tire dealers are starting to compete with the online sites, like Simpletire .
