Hi everyone, I need some info/input on Tire Pressure / Temp. monitors. I am looking to buy one, and it seems every company claims to have the best etc. So I am looking for some input from people who have them and there likes/dislikes and opinions, on the different brands. We have a 38' ft. Montana pulled by a F-350, any help would be appreciated.

I'd like to throw in a vote for Tireminder, I've had them on my dually, fiver, cargo trailer and boat trailer for over seven years and it's pulled my bacon outta' the fire several times! Aside from Tireminder being a good product I found their after-the-sale customer service to be fantastic, they really BACK THEIR PRODUCT!! Another nice feature is that they will send you free replacement batteries and O-rings for $5 (to cover shipping) annually, their a real class act!

I've used the TST for 2 years now. Going on 2 long trips (NH to NC). It was very easy to set up and it's been working great on my 40' 5th wheel with no repeater. One thing to remember is you do have to change the batteries in the monitors (very easy to do). Those that don't might be the reason for some of the problems...

I too think that they should be required on RVs. RVs consistently travel further distances at a clip than the average car allowing a picked up nail much more time to leak a tire down to the danger/fail point. With your car you come back out of the store to find a flat tire...Your RV blows an overheated, low pressure tire at speed. Checking pressure in the morning with a gauge doesn't do much for the roofing nail you pick up pulling out of the campground. I personally have an EEZ system. Has worked great for 2 years now. Takes about 5 minutes to get all the readings up when it turns on with the ignition.

TST has really good customer service and I've even had them answer the phones on Sunday afternoon when I was just going to leave a message. I have used their system since they first went into business. Give them a call and see what specials they may have going for a new customer. Can't hurt giving them a try.

we have had our tst system for maybe winter trips and always had an issue with the right rear not working at times. On the trip home in april this was the deal but I noticed the antenna had moved towards the windshield. The light went on in my head that maybe moving the monitor to the middle of the dash and not to the left of the steering wheel could help. No issues after that and not one issues coming south in Oct. I was thinking maybe a repeater would be needed after the forum guys were talking this about earlier. Nice to have in my opinion.

Any of the previously mentioned units will do what you want it to.
TST 507, Tireminder, Tiretracker, EEZMinder are all about the same. The difference in my opinion is customer service. The only unit I constanly hear about good service is from Mike at TST.

Yes, I consider them indispensable. There are so many things that can go sideways very quickly if you lose a tire. That $336 gives me a considerable amount of peace of mind when travelling 60+ mph.

Iโ€™ve had Pressure Pro for many years. Not sure what my opinion is worth since Iโ€™ve never tried other brands though. They have served me well and saved me a couple times. Once I had a blow out and stopped before any other damage. The other was a slow leak that it warned me of well before it went flat.

The repeater is an extra cost option, but with your length it might be a good idea.

Yes, I noticed that too on a couple of occasions. When it happened I got a beep. In my case, I simply picked up the receiver in the cab, moved it about 2", and it immediately reconnected. I believe it is a connection loss between the repeater (connected to TT battery) and the receiver (in the cab). I've been meaning to see about relocating the receiver to the rear seat to see if it improves, just forgot about it.

Thanks for reminding me! LOL

That is what I Just discovered with mine, just brought it closes and it stayed connected. Had a blowout on one trip and was able to pull over as soon as I heard the alert and there was still air in the tire without damage to trailer from flinging rubber and steel.

I use a TireMinder A1A with 10 sensors. I came with the repeater, which is mounted under the bed in my MH. It works well and they have free battery replacement if you register your warrantee card. The batteries last 1 season (9 - 10 months). I change mine every year when the MH comes out of storage after New Years to head south. Have never had a sensor quit because of a dead battery.

As for detecting leaks? I can't really say as I have yet to have one. Knock wood. I preferred the A1A to the Smart TPMS because I did not want to have my TPMS reliant upon my phone. I have ruined my phone a couple times with mishaps. The A1A comes with a suction cup mount and USB charge cord for it's internal battery.

I have heard good things about the TST 507 from friends, so I think they are probably about the same quality.

This is what I use: TireMinder Smart TPMS

TireMinder Smart TPMS

It communicates via Bluetooth, but does not take over your Bluetooth hands-free connection between the phone and truck. Each tire gets a pressure/temperature sensor that screws on to the valve stem. The system uses a Bluetooth repeater, which in-turn relays the data from the sensors to a receiver housed in the truck. That device in the truck then communicates with your smartphone.

The software has a number of features; the biggest one for me was that it allows it to scan all tires that are connected (you can buy additional tire sensors and I believe you can monitor up to 22) and will beep if there are any problems.

We used it when we evacuated from Irma, and drove 1,900 miles using it with no problems.

You MUST wire in the repeater. I simply wired mine directly to my 12v battery on the TT. The power draw from it is so low as to not even be noticed.

It's pricey: $336 on Amazon, but it lets me know at a glance how my tire pressures/temperatures were doing. The kit on Amazon comes with everything you need and either 4 or 6 sensors.

I wouldn't want to travel without one.
