I believe it is a Champion. So I need to talk to the rental place and see if it is a 30amp plug? What would be considered sensitive electronics? Hopefully somebody hops on and can elaborate on what you mean. Thanks

RV refrigerator circuit board, RV A/C circuit board, computers, televisions, entertainment center components, etc.

I guess everything is sensitive to a degree.

It will depend on what equipment you plan on running at the same time. For example you could probably watch TV and pop a bag of popcorn in the microwave at the same time but you wouldn't be able to do it while running the air conditioner.

Sounds good, I don't even think it comes with a TV. lol. It'll probably be used for sleeping, cooking, showering and maybe the A/C depending on the weather in October.

7500w is more than enough to power everything in the rig. Will have to look at plug configuration on genny. You'll want to use a 30 amp 110v plug on generator and adapt it to an rv plug connection if needed.

Most funrunners I've seen have a magnatek converter so not real fast at recharging batteries. so plan on running a few hours a day to keep batts up. Preferably with meals or middle of day so not to annoy other campers if the genny is loud.

I'd ask to have fridge turned on 24hrs before you pick up and pre cool food you'll be putting in it. Were it me renting, I'd take genny with me to pick up to insure air, microwave work before I got out to the desert.

Find out the water tank capacity so you don't run out.

Make sure it has a good spare tire and you have needed tools to change it.

I'd ask for a list of what trailer comes with, pots, pans, utensils,toiletries? so you know what to bring.

You realize that you only need a generator for the air or microwave, right? Everything thing else will run on the batteries or propane.

That shouldn't happen over a weekends use. Just making sure the newbie understands that a generator is not a necessity. I'm sure there's not one person on this site that hasn't camped over a weekend with out needing a gen.

As a follow up maybe the new campers should be given some tips on battery conservation so that the new campers don't feel the need to haul a noisy Craftsman generator up to what must be a remote camp site.We've all enjoyed the sound of generators as we camp. Yes the most efficient way to charge a battery is too run a 7KW generator through a trickle charger for hours. Maybe if the batteries go dead they could charge them using the tow vehicle, but with proper battery use they should be good for a weekend. Rant over Camp On.
