I have a Trail Air Tri Glide on a 2013 38' Mobile Suites, I think the Tri Glide is failing been noticing more clunking on takeoff welds all look good and I have kept it greased. I would like to replace the lower jaw with either a solid pin or maybe the Rotoflex, any opinions on them? Where can I purchase just the lower jaw?

Ultra-Fab gave me a customer support number for Trail Air 800-998-4238, That's where I got prices on the lower jaw and the required hardware kit

I also purchased the lower jaw separately from Ultra Fab Products. I believe they are the actual manufacturer of the Trail Air TriGlyde. Much cheaper than Lippert.

I know a few others, my self included, who contacted Lippert trying to purchase a lower jaw and were told a flat "NO". So maybe if you know the right folks you can, but I just ended up switching to a MORryde Pin Box since I wanted something rated higher that 18K.

Last I knew, Lippert would not sell just the lower jaw protion, but they will gladly sell you a complete hitch.
Recently at the Redwood Rally, there was a truck load of Tri-Glides hauled away by MORryde after owners changed to the MORryde pin box. And just an FYI, DRV has gone back to the MORryde pin box on their '17s (there was a bunch in the MORryde lot awaiting the IS install that were sporting MORryde pin boxes.

They WILL sell you the lower jaw. I bought the lower TriGlide jaw for our 07.5 MS direct from them. If you have a business license it will save you $$$$$$$$

I called Trailair and they do sell just the lower jaw with a hardware kit, I never realized that this pin box was only rated for 18K, trailer can gross 19K, I don't know why the dealer installed it because I am over that weight and for the price of the new jaw and hardware kit it's close to the Morryde 23K pin box, so I think that is the way to go. I have the AirSafe hitch so don't really need the air pin box.

I would contact Trail air directly (I do not have the contact information at the moment) I was able to just purchase the bottom part from them. Of course this was a few years back.

I have been greasing all 9 points, it rolls by hand a lot easier than when I 1st got it and yes I think failure is starting to occur, going to call Lippert in the am and see how soon I can get one, currently in Coeur D Alene,ID leaving Tues for Twin Falls, ID for a week. I will see if I can get the lower jaw only on the way.

I just replaced my Tri Glide with the new Flex Air... I had some clunking , I have greased all " 9 " grease zerks, and still had it...
Over on the Redwood forum, we had a guy with a complete failure, those were the early warning signs.
I did not want to be like him , so before issues started, I just sucked it up, and purchased the Flex Air... Like stated. , the Triglide is no longer in production, BUT, there are a lot still made, and on standby for installation on new builds... Once they are gone, that will be the end of them.

By th way , the Flex Air is so much smoother than the Triglide!!!

OP were you greasing the three points up inside the device visible from the back side?

I grease mine about every 1,000 miles or so. I tow 23K with about 5,800# pin. I have towed the RV about 9K.

So far it has been quiet and works well.

Contact Lippert, they may swap you out with a solid jaw or at least cut you a good deal on a jaw replacement.

Our Tri glide has been great. Hopefully that continues. We had some clunking so I Installed some Curt rubber damper pads between our B&W Patriot hitch and rails . Worked perfect nice a quiet no more clunking.

***DO NOT TOW YOUR TRAILER***

Yes, your Tri-Glide is failing and your trailer could separate from your truck. I had two of the three rollers fail from welds that broke. It started with banging every time I stopped or started. If the hitch plate is dipping in the rear you have a dangerous situation.

The Tri-Glide portion of that hitch is no longer in production. NHTSA has been notified of the hitch. Over on the Dutchmen Forum we have a long thread going about this hitch's failure. One hitch owner found that his Tri-Glide portion was only rated for 18,000 pounds and was installed on a 21,000 TrailAir. My warranty replaced the entire hitch with just the upper TrailAir portion and towing has been great since.

Here is a photo of my failed Tri-Glide.
