I don't think that the issue is any difference in pulling ability between SRW & DRW. Both will pull just fine.
The difference is in stopping ability. The DRW has double rear rubber on the road & bigger brakes. Even that is a minor difference IMO. The huge difference is the stability that the DRW provides. All the add ons that people put on their SRW cannot compensate for the inherent stability that the extra width of the DRW.

No way a sway bar makes up for the extra four sidewalls of a DRW. I tow a 12,360# with a 2001 Ram 2500 with Camper package same rear springs and sway bar as DRW 3500. while I don't have an issue with this setup, we are looking newer and it will be a DRW. We are currently full time SP Hosting and move as often as once a month or as seldom as once every three months. Down the road we may get a larger 5er so a DRW will make travel more comfortable.
Dont sell yourself short bud. My SRW megacab is pretty dang comfy running down the road @ 29k
That is a a lot of weight on a single rear wheel. The 5er is between 18k and 20k so pin is between 3,600# and 5,000#, assuming about 3,200# empty 6,800# to 8,200# on your two rear tires. The high end is not pretty.

I think the extra side walls of a dually are overrated. Try letting all the air out of your buddy's inner duals and see how long it takes him to notice his truck doesn't handle his trailer very well.
You do not have to "let" the air out. The valve extension are often noted as a leak point, similar to screw on TPMS senders and bolt in valve stems for trailer wheels.
