I've seen these apologists on Lippert supplied frames with these type of questions. The RV manufacturer gives Lippert the specifications and presto-changeo, frames start showing up at the RV manufacturers plant. Any issues with the frame is not because of the anything the RV Manufacturer has done wrong. Well I highly doubt that Lippert is just willy-nilly supplying frames based on an purchase order from the RV manufacturer. There's something called Product Liability and as Lippert has to warranty the frame, I'm positive that Lippert is very involved making sure the frame so requested will support the box being bolted onto it. Now how that frame is welded together and the experience level of said Lippert employees is another matter.

If the manufacturer has a superior frame... you would think they would โ€œtell the worldโ€ by singing itโ€™s praises. If not...they say โ€œnuttโ€™nโ€!

I can't fathom that a manufacturer would openly give that out.

I've asked manufacturers for pictures of the frames from the assembly line in order to get a visual on the cross-member supports and have difficulty even getting that.

Go to Northwood MFG's website and click on their Facebook page. They routinely feature their frames in a build photo shoot. I've seen several of their 5th wheel and TT frames on their page. I guess when you're proud of something you want everyone to see it.

Just saying it's a Lippert frame isn't all the info a purchaser needs. Every manufacturer that uses Lippert frames gives Lippert specifications they want or use the standard frame Lippert offers. Drv requires a sturdier box frame but makes them heavier 5th wheels. If I were to purchase I would want to know what the specifications that Vanleigh gives to Lippert.
