Washer/Dryer Combo's

Have had a Splendide vented combo for 7 years. Works great and never a problem with it. Yeah, takes a little time but we just put in a load, set it to wash and dry, and go do whatever it is we want to do. come back to a clean dry load of wash.

Any 120 volt dryer takes a little longer. No big deal. I'm not sitting around waiting for it. I'm out enjoying life.

We have the Splendide Ariston Series vented stacker in two of our fifth wheels.....love them. The combo is built great and will last for many many years. Everyone tells you that the are a novelty, but they are wrong. Splendide is the Whirlpool of Europe. These thing are made to run loads every day all day. I had a problem with a thermal sensor on one dryer after 4 years and the company who services all the units in the USA sent me the part and called me to tell me exactly how to repair it myself. They are very simple units to repair if you ever need to fix something. I think the xc2100 is the model that you would want. I will say if you can most definatly go with a vented unit. Dry time is 1/2. Good luck. Watch out for the Haier units they seem price friendly but BIG P-O-S.

We didn't do any research, the Splendide came with the mh. We have the vented unit, and it's been working fine for 4 years.

Splendide 2100XC here going on 4 years full time now. It works great and highly recommend it.

washer dryer prep unit just means it has been supplied for plumbing and electric. the vented unit I am referring to is the actual washer / dryer combo. This will require cutting a 4" hole in the wall to vent to the exterior. I have done this many times and it is very easy. I always start with the hole on the interior so if for any reason there is an obstruction (but never is) you can adjust the hole for a clear path to the exterior. if the hole needed to be adjusted it will never be seen once the washer is in place. Another way to get a hole location is wait for the morning dew to cover the outside of your camper. It clearly will show you where all your wall frameing is located. I still make a small probe hole on the interior just to make sure. I am a carpenter by trade so I am also the official hole cutter with all of our fellow campers. Good luck. We have a Splendide unvented combo (7100 series) and we are quite pleased with it. Despite lots of misinformation posted on these forums about unvented units they do not vent any moisture into the RV. They condense the water vapor on a water-cooled outer drum and dispose of it down the drain. The newer unvented units take only slightly longer to dry a load of clothes than their vented counterparts.

However, with either type of combo it is imperative that you pay attention to the instructions in the user guide. Both types of units can wash considerably more clothes than they can dry effectively. If you overload them, the clothes will take forever to dry and will be wrinkled.

I have the separate washer/dryer. If you need the combo, it's a fine unit. If drying time is an issue, just hang the clothes on a clothes line. And go ahead and do another wash load. We have one the fiats on the ladder. And folds up for storage.
