We're Baaaacccckkkkk!

Wow it's been quite some time since we've posted here. We traveled through the western states with our fantastic kids and beloved truck and trailer (2003 Nash 28-5D) for many years (~70K miles worth). The kids are now productive adults on their own and we recently found new homes for the old truck and trailer. We are starting to look toward retirement. Time for an adult rig!

We just ordered the truck and trailer we've been dreaming about for years: a new Chevy and an Arctic Fox 27-5L. Well equipped, but small enough that we can travel and park just about anywhere (lots of solar, generator and tanks)! We are fond of remote camping and primitive state parks and hope to expand our travels from the western states to the entire nation.

Lovely to see rv.net is still here. Looking forward to participating in this very congenial group once again!

The..."primitive state parks" - must be *very* primitive - & remote if you've just found out "rv.net is still here"...:@

  • Welcome back Karen & Marcel. Yep were still here and while we've lost a few regular contributors we've also gained many more new ones. Looking forward to a picture or two of the new rig.
  • Thank you! We bought the Duramax/Allison and happened to get a really nice High Country package around it. Great pulling truck! Our standard is pulling up the incredibly long 14% grade from Gabbs to Berlin-Ichthyosaur. Oh, and then camping in the max length 25' sites. Oh--we fudge that length just a bit because of the king-pin shortening effect of the 5th wheel :^)
  • Welcome back. We love our 2018 Duramax which is our 3rd one. Two years ago we started looking closely at the Fox 27-5L for the same reasons you mention. We kept our 2014 Lifestyle LS36fw beast. Congrats and safe travels.
