Well I need help again with my slide my friends

:( 2007 Weekend Warrior 2' cargo area slide (cable operated)

Please bare with me as I will attempt to be as descriptive with my issue as I can.

Months ago I had an issue with my slide and upon disassembly I discovered one of the cables had come loose. I reattached the cable, adjusted it as best I could and it was working pretty good. Recently I started to notice that the slide would extend a bit sluggish for the first few inches and then operate normally until it reached its outer limit. Upon retraction it seemed to do OK until the last few inches, where it would slowly close. Also on the close cycle once the slide hit the center roller it seemed to "skip" up as if it was hanging lower than the frame (not sure if this is serious or normal).

Well just yesterday the darn thing would not even move out under its own power without me pushing on it (pretty hard) while my wife operated the button. Upon retraction, it would not mate properly unless I pushed on it with some force. :M

A few things:

I am not an expert and adjusted it as best I could with the instructions someone on this site sent me. Currently the cables are equally tight in the open and closed position (top and bottom)so nothing is blatantly obvious like one loose cable etc.

I am at a loss again with this darn thing. I was wondering if perhaps someone can give me an idea what I may be experiencing or is the motor going bad etc.

Thank you for your help

Frustrated,

Joe
  • I will try that when I get home today and report my findings

    Thanks
  • If it is the BAl Accu Slide:

Maybe one of the cables has frayed and sticking in the roller that guides it in the frame.

If you cant find anything binding the slide anywhere, try bypassing the motor to open and close with a drill and the tool provided. (when I purchased my rig a tool for this purpose was included). If not you may be able to order one from their website or you trailer manufacturer.

If it runs in and out freely in this manner then it has to be the motor going bad.

first off check your batteriesif low the slides wont work - Batteries are good
then get a scotchbryte and water and clean your rails they have build up on them-Not sure what rails you mention but all I see is 3 long rollers that are currently rolling free
then go to walmart in the rv section and get a can of drylube and lube the rails
then run it out and in a few time then relube the rails
