I have a 13.5 in my bedroom. It cost about $1000 installed. I have had the kind a/c with and without the heat strips. I now prefer to use electric space heaters over the heat strips in a/c. IMO, the a/c fan blows too much air for the amount of heat produced by the strips. Plus the heat strips can get dust on them and stink when they heat up. Even with a 15k and 13.5 a/c's, We need both running hard to get temps in the 70's inside when it is 100 degrees outside.
