Where to install small safe?

My Komfort came with a steel box bolted to the floor of the passenger side front wardrobe. Simple hasp 'n lock box and I've used it a couple times, mostly to leave my hogleg at least somewhat secured while staying in Kalifornicate. After those pics of Tucson Jim's fire, I'm a lot more inclined to keep valuables within "grabbing reach" at all times...

When we went on a cross country trip this summer, I used a small portable Hornady gun safe. It came with a cable to attach it to a truck seat frame or whatever else I wanted to use. I could move it anytime with minimal effort. Any safe that you are going to carry with you is just a deterrent for someone wanting to get something quickly.

Im not as worried about that as much as I'd be concerned posting when I will be out of town, and for how long. THAT would be something a thief could use.

Totally agree!! My friend just bought a new trailer today. There are pictures of his safe in the closet. Big Deal. After everything else it is a safe, it's not meant to be easy to get into even if you do know where it is, where my trailer is, how to get into my trailer, if I'm in there or not, what's in the safe, when am I coming back.....on and on..When I install mine I'll be happy to let you know where it is if you like.

We installed a safe in the closet in the main bedroom! Thru the floor with class A bolts. Yes they can be compromised but I feel it is securely fastened and will stand up to all but the most determined thief!

I have mine in an access I made in a removable step going up to the bedroom. Out of site out of mind.

Our 2005 Cardinal had one built into the closet floor and was part to the steel frame under the overhang. Chris

Just remember that the safe will keep "honest" people out. It will stop the petty thief. If someone thinks there are valuables available they may do a great deal of damage trying to steal the safe. You can hide the safe under the couch, in the back of the closet, in the back of a compartment, but that makes it harder to access. Personally, I follow the KISS principle. Keep it simple (insert your own appropriate word).
