my 5er has 2 gray water tanks, 1 for the shower and basin and the other for the kitchen. the kitchen is number 2. The pull handle for this tank is between the two axles and back under by the springs. A real pain to find and pull esspecially if you are older with bad shoulders, knees etc. the other two valves and handles are no problem since I put an extender on them. they are along the lower side the fiver and it looks like there is room for a 2nd gray water valve, but cougar choose to hide it and make it very difficult to locate and pull. Has anyone modified a situation like this and how? I wonder if this was thought up by some engineer who has never been rving.

First question that comes to me is, if the thing is so poorly designed, why buy it? Surely if one has physical health issues ease of operations should be considered.

Totally unsure if this is how your camper is plumbed...but my forward black tank has two valves. One us under the camper and I would have to crawl and bend funny to open and close it.

However, the pipe also runs further out to the side of the camper and joins up with the two forward grey tank lines. Right before the 1st grey tank, my black tank has a second valve.

I leave the first open all the time... (which could be a problem with clogging, but has not happened... yet..) (also have the in tank hose cleaner thinggy)

Perhaps you could leave your hard to reach valve open all the time, and add a second valve in an easier location. (or perhaps there is one already)

Did you ever think he could have it installed?And they have a less failure rate than a lot of the manual ones.

I imagine the tank is positioned for ease of installation in relation to the sink. The handle is than place accordingly.
I don't understand it may have been hidden until the first time you used it. But once you discovered it. The handle is no longer hidden. If it is hard to pull you may consider an electric valve or possibly re routing the cable

This is what I done, my T handle got damaged, so I removed it, opened the valve with a pliers and installed the Valterra T-58 Twist-on. Works for me.
