WW city water connection

I have a WW fb2100 and the o-ring in the city water connection is dislodged and I can not get it to seat. This is causing my water pump to keep cycling and water to leak from the city water connection (dry camping). I tried to remove the city water connection from the compartment where the city water, fresh tank fill and vent are but it seems to be permanently mounted. I can not find a replacement for the whole compartment with the city water connection since WW is long gone. Is there a way to remove the city water connection from the plastic compartment that I did not see? If it can't be removed from the compartment is there a suggested fix without me having to "rig" something?

Thanks for the info, but please don't call me cheap and easy (only my wife can call me that).

Old-Biscuit, I had also thought about using a PVC plug, but it has to be air tight to keep my pump from cycling. I'm sure I can get it to work but will save that as a last resort. By the way, my wife almost s**t herself when I told her WW is back.

The PVC plug will be air and water tight..the screen/washer in the city water connection will seal off the plug.

    Cheap and easy fix.

Yes, very similar. I got mine from the local big box store. My lines were easy to access as my connections are very close to the sink. It looks like Shark Bite makes a check valve that should be a breeze to install. Fittings

I've heard of, but have never used, Shark Bite. I had no idea they made check valves. Thanks for the link.
  • I just found this. It's 1/2" M/M so I should be able to put it inline between the fresh water fill and the water line (both ends are female), and I won't even need to cut the water line.

Camorhino, the o-ring is part of the check valve inside the city water connection.

Vulcanmars, I like this idea. Would something like this work? What did you use?

  • Thanks all for the replies. Is there a way to remove the city water connection from the plastic compartment, so I can keep the stock plastic housing?
  • The assembly is very common. Any RV place can get it for you or go online. Mine failed right after I bought the unit. You can also just install a inline check valve. I cut the Plex line and installed a brass check valve with a couple of shark bite fittings from HD.
  • The internal check valve in the city water connection has failed....they are just a plunger, spring and o-ring.....cheap plastic junk

Just get a 3/4" PVC plug and screw it into the city water connection when you are using the on-board pump.

IF you can not remove the city water connection.....you may have to replace the whole assembly/housing. The PVC plug will work just fine until you locate a housing OR forever....well at least for a really long time :B

Although WW went out of business in 2009........it has reemerged so you may have luck contacting them.........LINK
  • WW did not have a special compartment for their stuff, so you should be able to reference that set up at any large RV store and come up with the same one. Which o-ring are you talking about that you can't seat? The hardest part will be disconnecting the lines from the unit as they have a crimp ring on most, but you can replace that with a stainless hose clamp or buy a crimper. I had mine out to reroute the air vent line, and I can't recall it being too technical. Mine was a CL 4005, but the same compartment as you pictured.
