A lot of our RVing has been going to the desert, Although we have gone to Yellowstone, Yosemite and the Grand Canyon. We always had a compressor. When we weren't towing our enclosed trailer we had it in the back storage area. Is this something that I need to take. We have had 2 blow outs in the past five years, so now I pay more attention to tire pressure. We do not know why we had the blow outs, but I believe it was the quality of the tires. Anyway, how many of you travel with a compressor?

We have one, and consider it a necessity. We use it for our air hitch, bike tires, and have used it on the truck and 5'r a couple times when changing elevation.

Absolutely I do. Admittedly it's not used all that often - mainly going from hot to cold weather - and once when I found a tire losing air at a CG. So yeah, an essential appliance. This little guy is mine. Doesn't require ear plugs.

A compressor is not going to help you after a blowout.

I do. My 5ver tired take 125 psi, so I have a larger one. Also helps with airing our bicycles and motorcycle.

Compressor. Do you need one? No, I don't need one, but I do carry one with us as standard equipment. Not just for us but to help a fellow camper in need, should it be of help. Also, it is not just for airing up tires. Just like insurance, not always needed, but sure is reassuring to have it should the need arise. ;)

I bought mine from Home Depot , their brand name , it is zactly the same as my Lowes brand . about $90 , and ya always get a free brad nailer to shoot nails in noisey campers tyres !

Have a line built off of the truck. Check the tires on all vehicles when we leave to head for our next stop.

It amazes me over the years of workamping how many people have asked me if the park has a compressor so they can air up the tires before they head home.

I bought a small, inexpensive "Slime" model from Walmart. It is slow but does its job and I have used it dozens of times. My rear tires carry close to the maximum rated load so I am fanatical about maintaining the exact tire pressure. I make sure the tires are cold and out of the sun before checking and adjusting the pressures.

Amen Bob , I have always spent my money on quality USA tools. But these days if I'm buying Chinese I buy cheep Chinese.

That Dewalt would certainly do the job , but , if ya look around you will probably find one fifty dollars cheaper and with a free nail gun ! They are all made by the same Chinaman any way !

We have a small compressor we use around the house, and I set it in the back of the car (toad) when we leave. I also use it around the house a lot when my large compressor hose won't reach.

I also carry a 12-volt compressor on each motorcycle and in my pickup. But I doubt they'd handle the 80 psi needed by the Class C. ;)

12v MV-50 works well for me.

If you go 12v get one that clamps on the battery. 12v in a cigar plug is weak.

We have a 12 volt compressor from Harbor Freight and it works very good. I use it mostly for adjusting our air ride pin box.
I also added a 30 amp 12volt receptacle in the side of the truck bed, very handy.
