Lost a dear friend 12/23/14 *Update*
My best buddy Lin passed on December 23. I met him at a campground here in NC, close to Pinehurst. He was the first fulltimer I had met, and he had the nicest, coolest RV too. He was the one that taught me everything I know about the RV lifestyle. Lin had gotten divorced some 20 years ago and when he did he sold off everything he owned and bought a class A Beaver Contessa and hit the road. Always running from the cold, he would winter in Florida and along the Gulf Coast, heading to Texas every year. As the weather warmed he would make his way up the California coast, through Montana and back down through NC. He always spent summers here in NC, hanging out with my family and our friends. Lin was old when I met him, and I always knew this day would come. I knew something was wrong when I tried to call him and his phone was off. The last time I talked to him was after Thanksgiving and I was trying so hard to wish him a Merry Christmas. I finally got up with his son who gave me the news. Lin was in his 80's, a member of Good Sam, Loners on Wheels, The Escapee's club and a few other clubs. Always quick with a smile and loved my wife's brownies. He left this world doing exactly what he loved doing and I am so grateful that I had the chance to know him.
He will truly be missed.
