2006 Pleasure Way Traverse

I'm a recent pleasure way traverse owner. I purchased a 2006 Pleasure-Way Traverse with only 31,000 miles. Super clean and well maintained. Looks as if the appliances have never been or very lightly used. Anyway I am learning how to use all the features. When I was working on using external electrical I realized that both the neutral wire and the hot wire were both hot in the microwave receptacle and the GFCI next to the sink. This is causing the receptacles to not work. The refrigerator works on DC but not AC. I've checked both receptacles and they seem to be wired correctly but somewhere the neutral is connected to a hot wire. Where can I find the water heater connection and the AC/DC converter connection that are also powered by AC. has anyone else experienced this?
  • I have a 2001 Pleasure Way Traverse and I have found the customer service to be excellent. I use the phone number or email address from their web site.
  • Are you saying there is no voltage difference between neutral and hot? That's what you see if they are tied together.

Or are you comparing each to ground? Neutral and ground will not be tied together in your RV. The RV is treated as portable appliance and a ground-neutral tie at that point would be considered a fault. Neutral and ground come together back at the power source, i.e. the post. A fault could be where you plugged in, your power cord, or where the power line comes into the box. Most of the time I've had problems, the problem was where I plugged in. But excessive resistance on one line or the other could read as a voltage when measuring neutral to ground, while plugged in.

I've also had ground faults occur in the GFCI outlet itself, not enough connection to carry a load, but enough to cause GFCI problems.
  • I have a 2006 PW lexor- different, but maybe some commonalities.

the GFCI in the "head" is also on same circuit as the sink/ overdoor/ outside/ fridge

I would suggest that you reset this with nothing plugged in.

check the AC breakers ( pass side rear on mine).

you say you have AC on the Neutral..the check is "do you really" how are you testing- I have seen meters shown many volts on circuits when the current was in milliamps- so a spurious reading...esp if there are motors on same power supply

Ensure that your power source ( shore power?) is correctly wired.
