30 amp 110 or 220 volt?

Our mh is a 50 amp system. With an adapter, I can use 30 amp with limited capabilities. I am putting a 30 amp receptacle at my home so that I can run our fridge and one ac (total 11 amps). My question is should this receptacle be wired up 110 volts or 220 volts? I am fairly sure it should be 220 but just not 100% sure. Any comments?

You have it wired for 240V.........which is for a welding machine, a electric dryer, a air compressor

BUT IT IS NOT FOR A Motorhome/RV

MH/RV use 120V...........even one with 50A
1 HOT (Black) feeds 1/2 of main breaker panel
1 HOT (Red) feeds other 1/2 of main breaker panel

Your OLD 30A was wired with 2 HOTS (1 HOT from each 30A breaker) for 240V Service to whatever.

Your NEW 30A should only use 1 30A breaker with 1 HOT, 1 Neutral (White) and 1 Ground.
And the 30A Receptacle should be an RV Receptacle

WOW! Reading these responses even confuse me and I know what I'm doing.

To the OP: Decide if you want 30 or 50 amp service. Since you already have purchased the 30 amp stuff, go with that. Your 30 amp service is 120VAC NOT 220. Your coach is 30amp too. Click on the link below and read about how to hook it up correctly. When you're finished, test it for 120VAC BEFORE hooking up your RV. Good luck...Dennis

Picture or better diagram would be very helpful here , but from the description you wired 240V to RV 30amp outlet design for 120V.
If I read it right, the sparks will fly.

STOP.

A standard 30 amp RV outlet has ONE hot, one neutral and one ground.

A standard 50 amp RV outlet has TWO hots, one neutral and one ground.

So if doing a STANDARD repeat STANDARD 30 amp outlet, see above.

But if you are pulling 4 wires and have two 30 amp breakers (opposite sides of box so 240 between them) on your house breaker box, there is a reasonable option: Wire as a 50 above, but now instead of 100 amps @120 VAC, you now would only be able to draw 60 amps @ 120 VAC. But much better than just the 30 amps @ 120 VAC a regular 30 would give you.

The secret is that you pull 4, not just three wires.

No you don't use both 30 amp breakers,,,,you have 3 wires...a hot..a neutral..and a ground. One wire(black) goes in the breaker...white goes to neutral bar...and copper goes to ground.

30A RV receptacle is 120 volt. Only one breaker is connected and two grounds.

I would get a 50A recep and wire it to the 30A breakers. A 50A rv rarely uses more than 25A on each leg. That way you could run both ACs if you want.

DO NOT CONNECT 220 TO A 30a RECEP.

50A is 120V also.

For few dollars more put in the 50A vs 30A at home

This is the issue even professional electricians get confused on.
Your 50 amp service is having 2 legs at 50 amp EACH.
The 30 amp adapter connect both legs into single 30 amp 120V plug.
You can find lot of stories about people plugging 30amp 120V RV adapter into 240V dryer plug (yes, you can make it fit) and sparks are flying.
