-40 RV Anti Freeze

I have been winterizing my class c by first blowing out the lines and then pumping RV anti-freeze into all the lines, traps, etc. I then pour about 1/2 gallon into the toilet. We had a cold snap where tempertures hit close to zero for a few nights and I noticed that the antifreeze in the toilet was almost frozen; went in to run the generator for 2 hours; it was more of a hard slush than solid. Hopefully it does not get to the point where it expands before truly freezing. Have not had any issues in the past 4 years. Any thoughts?

RV toilets don't have an S trap - just a straight pipe. All you need is half a cup of antifreeze in the bowl.

Yes, I see my extra jugs of antifreeze are pretty slushy now, at -20 C. But it doesn't seem to have expanded.

RV pink stuff will not expand when it freezes. Water is one of only a small number of substances that can expand when it reaches the frozen state ....

It "slushes", but does not expand.

I have also noticed this with -20 and -40 windshield washer fluid, perhaps from water being a component? I never dilute.

RV antifreeze does get slushy. As long as it doesn't freeze solid you are OK.
