Is it difficult to find RV parks that will allow 45' RV's?

You might be overthinking this issue. Not once have I had to unhook the toad to scout out a road although I often unhook before proceeding to the site....takes 2 minutes while DW is registering.
There are resources to check on the roads to see if they can accommodate your coach. We drive the million dollar highway every year with my Jeep in tow and I would think it is one of the harder passes for a 40+ MH to traverse. I find it is no problem.
