Wonderful Stuff! I wonder if that 5th Wheel Generator idea ever worked?
I can tell you one part that didn't, that was the part to be able to play phonographs. Yes, I am aware Chrysler actually offered this option in their cars in the 50s, but it didn't work.
  • Thanks, pretty cool.

I liked the classified section on the last few pages of the "Trailer Grows Up". Many of the advertised companies are still around in one form or another, for instance, Onan generators for $99.00 each.

My grandfather had an extensive collection of pre WW2 machanics and science magazines and reading the article took me back down memory lane.

Nice way to start my day!
  • Very cool!

If anyone here is ever in Tallahassee, FL....take a tour of the old Capitol building. There is an exhibit on "house cars" from the Depression days when folks came to Florida and lived in their early days motor homes and travel trailers as they came down to Florida seeking work.
  • Interesting. Thanks for sharing.

I believe a company called Trailmobile built semi trailers for the trucking industry.
