A positive experience.

Just wanted to post a positive experience. I purchased a portable 50 amp surge guard, model 34750, from Camping World in May of '13. It faied in Sept, '14. The face of the unit turned black and the plastic covering over the voltage display cracked, plus it would drop a leg every so often. So I called CW and got the usual response that the device was past the one year warranty period and they could do nothing. Since this was my second 34750 that failed with the first lasting over 5 years I was upset. So I called Technology Research Corp, the mfg., and spoke with Kerri. She told me to send the defective device to her and she would see to it that it was replaced. She gave me an RMA number and I was asked to include a brief description of my issue. I was kept in the loop through the entire process and received a new 50 amp model 34750 two weeks after I returned my old one. Even though I paid the shipping to Clearwater, FL I feel it was a mfg. going the extra mile to make it right as my device was well beyond the stated warranty.

CW only sells them so they really didn't have any responsibility.

Surge Guard by TRC does only have a 1 year warranty so I am surprised they did anything after 16 months.
Good customer service OR market share lost to Progressive Industries that provide Lifetime Warranty :H

Glad they replaced it for you.
Typical experience is they just say 'So sorry' warranty expired.
Is it time for your medication or mine?

Hey what are you doing putting this kind of trash on here??? We're only on this forum to complain about everything and anything, not compliment people!!!

Just kidding, glad it worked out for you. I've had a few similar experiences with companies that stand behind their products when they know the product should not have failed. (Just not with Ford Motor Company)

I just picked one up last week. It's good to hear they stand behind their product. I have noticed one thing about it though. It does get unusually HOT in direct sunlight. I wonder if these failures could be due to extreme heat???

Great to hear of the response from the manufacturer, I'll keep them in mind when shopping for one.
