Air Bag Cost

Has anyone on here had to replace their Air Bags on their Motorhome? If so what was the cost?
  • OP is reading brake tank pressure. PPV will stop air from leaving brake tanks right at 65 psi.
  • Idk what the normal loaded pressure is, but an actual leak won’t just stop at 65psi. It’ll stop at exactly zero.

Yes, a leak in the supply side, ride height valve or air bag will give exactly the same "loss of PSI".

A spray bottle with kiddie bubbles will help you identify the leak(s).

But with 20+ year old rubber air bags, if you are going to keep the coach, time to replace them.
  • I've been running some tests on my airbags. I start the MH up and when my front and rear air gages show full I shut the MH down and then check the gages several times over a few days. The lowest the gages got were just below 65psi on both gages and this is with the jacks not extended. So I'm wondering if my problem is with the airbags or with the system that feeds them the air. Any thoughts out there???

Are you looking for parts prices/part numbers for DIY installation OR installed prices?

    Installed prices.

ZF ( independent front end) bags were $400 each, rear bags, $300 each. 1 hour install labor for each one. This was at Gaffney last month

  • Had the right rear airbag on a freightliner chassis replaced at a Cummins dealer for around $300 about 3 years ago.
