Air Leak at top of my 2005 Sports Coach

Was on the road last week. Appears my motor home has developed an air leak around the top of the windshield. Going to try to seal it up this weekend. Was wondering if this has happened to anyone else?
  • I'm not sure what to seal it with, but I wouldn't use silicone. It seems like everything I've ever used it on starts leaking within five years and then it's a pain to clean.

I had the tops of both my windshields resealed at a glass shop. The owner put a step ladder in the back of his pickup truck to reach the tops. I don't know what he used, but it's worked fine. Cost me $75.

  • You Know Bill, it's funny, I was heading down from Mammoth Lakes, then I start hearing this wind howling in the upper front of my coach. Only seems to happen when I'm over 55mph. Looked all over the front of the coach, can't see any other possible air leaks.

I'll probably take it to a glass shop, great suggestion thanks.
  • I had the howling noise on my 05 Cross Country. Turned out to be a gross adjustment on the driver side mirror. Too close to the wall. Used the provided allen wrench and moved it out an inch or so. Noise disappeared.
  • Hey Cochise, could you please give me a little more detail regarding your fix?
  • If you suspect an air leak (windshield or other), get some wide blue (not permanent)tape and tape off the suspected area. That will tell you immediately if that is the real source of the noise.
