Allegro Bus fog lights won't turn off

I have recently widowed friend and I am trying to help her get her 2000 Allegro Bus ready to sell. She was cleaning it up and noticed the front fog lights were on, and she can't figure out how to turn them off. She took it to a mecahnic and he traced the wires to a small box that was labeled 'pilot' but he could not figure out how to turn them off, so they disconnected the wiring to get them off. Anyone have any suggestions how to turn them off? Thanks!
  • I googled pics of a 2000 Allegro bus and it does not appear as if they had fog lights from the factory. Are they aftermarket? You could have a sticky relay. The air pump in my Allegro occasionally sticks "on" because of a sticky aftermarket relay. Once in a while I'll notice the air pressure getting higher and higher - well beyond the preset limit. I narrowed it down to the relay because it will run even with the key off. If I tap the relay it will shut off. I shut the circuit breaker off when I'm not around just in case....

Anyhow - hopefully you can trace the wires to a relay. There should be one if it's wired up properly.
  • I've seen both with a toggle switch and headlight push switch. A friend of mine has a 1987 and it has a toggle switch.
  • Every Allegro Bus we have had in the shop has a toggle switch on the dash marked fog lights, not to mention they generally do not come on unless the headlights are already on. Then again, Im not sure I have seen an Allegro Bus that old. I think 2005 is the oldest we have had in.
