An answer to a question please?

Our friends just bought a 40 foot motor home, planning to travel a large part of the year. The motor home has a residential refrigerator, does this mean it will ONLY run when plugged in to electricity at a campground? If so, how does the fridge run if you are going down the road? This also crosses out any boondocking?

His only limits in boondocking is the size of his battery bank.
Solar may be an option.

We boondock at the lake and mountains and we want them to join us but we're concerned they couldn't because of the fridge.

The newer motorhomes and 5rs that have the residential fridge have an inverter installed that is dedicated to the fridge. It supplies 110 to the fridge from a battery.
