Any issues with drop down beds?

I am interested in hearing about problems or concerns with the motorized drop down beds found on some class c's. Do pillows and blankets have to be stored before raising bed. I imagine it to be a hassle to climb over your partner during the night to get to the bathroom. Any feedback is appreciated.

You have to be able to put the bed all the way up and all the way down. Treat the bed as you would a slide out. When you go up with it keep the button pushed after it is all the way up and the same for down until you hear the motors kick out. This keeps the motors in sinc and it will not hurt anything. they are designed to do that.

For four years my wife and I enjoyed our Safari Trek, with the bed that goes up to the ceiling during the day. It made our 30 foot class A feel like a 38 foot motor home during the day.
HOWEVER, after a few years of this we started getting tired of the process to use the bed each evening. Headroom under the bed was also a bit low if over 6 ft. Tall. More importantly, the mattress on a drop down bed is necessarily lacking in quality and thickness and we started having hip problems after spending a night sleeping on it. We eventually traded the Trek in for a motor home with a bona-ride bedroom and real Queen mattress and never looked back.
That said, for a younger couple a drop down bed may be a great choice to maximize daytime space in a motor home.
