Anyone camp here???

We want to meet our daughter and family to camp with our son's family and our oldest daughter. We thought "Broken Arrow Campground" in Winamac, IN was a good halfway point. The reviews are all over the board from poor to great. Has anyone camped here? If so, how was it? If not is there something close that would be better??? Thanks for your help.
  • I'd much rather winaPC, but to each his own.

Not sure what you like to do when camping, but you may want to consider Turkey Run State Park. It's a great place to hiking, horseback riding through the state park, Canoeing. There are 2 covered bridges at either end of the state park. You can camp on anything from full sun, to full shade. You do have to be careful in interpreting the site description, because anything that is not described as level, may be too slanted to ever get level. In other words "gentle slope" means there is probably a foot drop from one end of the pad to the other. You can use Google Earth to get an overview of the sites. One other thing that my girls like to do is gocart racing, which is just outside the state park. And if you are into really wild things and own 4WD, you can visit Attica, which is about 45 minutes north.

As far as getting there, its a nice drive down rt41, which is freeway with an occasional crossroad. Much more pleasant driving, than driving down I65.
  • Depends on the reviews I'd say. I often check the reviews and the things that stop me from using a particular campground are poor/bad WiFi, ancient electrical system, and no bathrooms. Other then that, I stay to myself and could care less about 'politics'.
