Atwood 8535 heater

Hi all,Attwood 8535-iv dclp heater problem on my rv,the heater will start up(fan going)but is having trouble lighting the furness sometimes it lights then it cuts out and stops,if you look at the circuit board outside next to the heater there is a red warning light on the circuit board that flashes 3 times off and on,any ideas what the problem is.
  • Mine did the same thing.
Circuit board. Replace it with a Dinosaur. Much better than OEM.
  • RED LED Flashing 3X....Ignition Lockout Error Code

    Circuit board WET?
Dry it using Hair Dryer...then try again
If it works you might want to consider a Relocation Kit
(Atwood KIT includes a NEW circuit Board WITH a plastic Bracket that lifts circuit board up....make your own bracket)

Relocation Kit...circuit board is generic to almost all Atwood furnaces/7900 thru 8900 AFS, AFM, AFL, etc

If not WET....circuit board is at fault
Dinosaur Electronics Fan50Plus Circuit board for replacement
    Better quality circuit board

    Dino Fan50Plus
  • Clean the contacts on the circuit board with a white pencil eraser
Clean the electrode/flame sensor. make sure it is adjusted correctly.
    Clean the burner area.
If running off battery, insure it is charged
  • Maybe a search online for a troubleshooting guide, or this overall atwood guide which includes other appliances Atwood

Also a check on you tube will give quite a bit of info on troubleshooting those units.
    Good luck.
